Gabriela Toncheva (*1989) was born and lives in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2015 graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the New Bulgarian University – Sofia, major “Alternative Ceramics and Glass” and minor “Scenic Design”. In 2013 studied “Glass Design” at “Tomas Bata University” in Zlin, the Czech Republic, as part of Erasmus programme. In 2016 graduated from the Master’s degree course at the New Bulgarian University, specialty “The Art of Glass and Ceramics in Architecture”. In 2017 was granted a scholarship to study in the PhD programme “Visual and Plastic Arts” at the Department of Fine Arts, New Bulgarian University. Even as a student she participated in many projects and exhibitions and won various competitions. During her academic studies she participated in many short-term trainings and practices, in the country and abroad. Since 2015 she has been participating in the renovation of the windows in the “St. Alexander Nevsky” Cathedral in Sofia. Author of architectural and artistic synthesis in private and public spaces. Gabriela was the organizer and assistant director of the International Biennial of Glass, Bulgaria, from 2014 to 2019. She has realized three solo exhibitions and numerous participations in joint local and international events. Her works are part of public and private collections. She is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
