Martian Tabakov is an artist living and working in Sofia.
He works in various fields of visual art, including sculpture, drawing, installation, and sound objects, seeking the intersections between them. He also takes part in theatrical projects as a set designer and musician.

He graduated with a degree in Sculpture from the National Academy of Art in Sofia and specialized in Antwerp, Belgium. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions and projects in Bulgaria, as well as in countries such as Austria, France, Turkey, Serbia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. He has an expanded interest in non-gallery spaces.

Despite achieving a strong degree of stylization, one of the primary sources in his work is the human body. His figures are most often presented in dynamic positions that convey the opposition between the desire for life and the harsh, unpredictable environment that can easily engulf them. In his projects, he frequently constructs an immersive environment aimed at revealing this interaction.

One of his working methods involves creating a predetermined number of components for a given composition, which can later be freely rearranged according to different exhibition spaces. This gives the works an adaptive character and turns each new presentation of a project into a distinct artwork.

If you want, I can also adapt this for a catalog, artist statement, or short bio version.
