“If I had a pig, I would name it Nevo” is Nevelin Ivanov’s first solo project. This show presents artist’s attemptsand experiments with drawing, textiles and site specific solutions. The main idea that unites the works and their arrangement is related to an nutrition disorder and the following psychological trauma. In his works, the author uses an universal symbol of omnivory – the pig, which is also a kind of personification of human dysmorphophobia. Nevelin recreates his body or parts of it and images of pigs in different visual contexts. The artworks represent different stages of the road to overcoming the nutrition disorder and the trauma associated with, not accepting one’s own body and the fear of rejection.
