In his series of photographic experiments, Strahil explores the motive for the “cultivation” of nature through his specific views of it. The suggestion that in today’s world we are inevitably “spectators” of nature through screens, through glass frames, superimposed surfaces, sometimes cracked or distorted – reflections of our perception of nature as a cultural phenomenon with clear outlines and horizons… We are provoked to find forgotten or abandoned natural views behind the many cracked “glass screens” that humanity seems to only impose on itself in search of communication with the surrounding world.
